Modlr is a 3D modeling tool built for indie game developers who think in boxes and aren't wanting to learn a complete package like Blender or other complicated editors. Model with parametric cubes — position, rotate, scale, and warp corners freely — then paint each face with full simple colors.

What sets Modlr apart is it's simplicity.  I tried to capture the most basic parts of other modeling software to come up with an easy way to prototype, create assets quickly, and browse through those assets easily.

It also features a  tagging system: attach custom hints to faces, cubes, groups, or entire models, and let your engine decide what they mean. A face tagged sign  could become a billboard anchor.  A cube tagged particles=fire could spawn an emitter.

Modlr saves them as-is in a lean .cbmodel file that sit in your project directory and load directly in your engine with the help of a plugin (included) — no build step, no intermediate format. Export to GLB when you need to hand geometry to Blender or other platforms.

I've also included a way to interface with LLM models to help generate your designs quickly, so you can get something fleshed out working fast.  LLM connections are still limited to Claude, open ai compatable endpoints.  I can add more if demand is enough. I've tested it a little bit, and it definitely is a good brainstorming tool ( totally optional as well ).

Built with React, Three.js, and Tauri.

This is still in early development, but is in good enough shape to begin using.  There are still bugs! If you come across one, post in the discussion boards!

Thank you!

Personal note:  I decided to make this because i was tired of having over complicated editors when i was just trying to build "low poly" models for my game.  I suck at making art, but I wanted SOMETHING I could use to design things.  So I said, why not build with rectangles!  I hope you enjoy this.  I plan on continuing development for a long while, as I'm using this in my personal projects.  Your funding will help me continue my work, and improve the editor.  Feature requests are welcome for consideration!
